The first phase of the new Vetting and Barring scheme (VBS) will officially launch on 12th October 2009 and will affect both paid employees and volunteers applying to or currently working with children and vulnerable adults, within regulated activities.

It is important that organisations who currently use BRCC for access to the CRB service understand how the launch may impact on them, and the individuals they recruit.
