The vetting and barring scheme covers those individuals that are working, or intending to work, in a regulated or controlled activity with children or vulnerable adults in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
If the post being applied for is in England or Wales individuals must apply to the CRB for ISA-Registration. Individuals intending to work in a controlled activity with children or vulnerable adults will be required to register with the ISA, but not until 2014. Employees or volunteers already working with children or vulnerable adults will be phased into the scheme and will be required to be ISA-registered by the end of July 2015.
