Bus users in the Bedford area now have a say in how their services are operated following the formation of the Bedford Area Bus Users’ Society (BABUS) for more information please fo to the BABUS website. BABUS is the latest addition to a growing number of bus user groups across the country, and has an interest in all bus services operating from Bedford Bus Station. BABUS is affiliated to Bus Users’ UK, the national watchdog for bus passengers.Want a better bus service in South Beds?
Bus passengers in the Leighton Buzzard area have recently experienced the largest round of changes for many years, creating much cause for concern.A Bus Surgery held on a bus parked in Leighton Buzzard High Street gave passengers the opportunity to find out more about the changes and raise issues directly with representatives from Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire County Councils, Arriva the Shires and Essex and Grant Palmer Passenger Services. The Surgery was organised by the Bedfordshire Rural Transport Partnership and Bus Users UK.
All those that attended the Surgery will be invited to a follow-up meeting in the near future. This meeting will also be open to other members of the public, so if you have an interest watch this space for details. It is hoped that this will be the first step in forming a South Bedfordshire Bus Users’ Group following on from the establishment of the Bedford Area Bus Users’ Society last year.
