Some examples of our work

Working with Bedfordshire County Council

We have helped to enhance Harrold Odell Country Park for both wildlife and visitors. We have led on the production of the Park's interpretative boards and leaflet, overseen contracts for footpath and angling improvements and helped with special events for visitors. We have also assisted in setting up a Friends Group, a group of local volunteers who help to maintain the Park. Photo of enhancement works at HOCP

Working with Mid Beds District Council

We have led on the development and management of informal nature reserves.

Drovers Spinney on the banks of the River Hit is a small wooded area in the centre of Shefford. Following a public consultation exercise we planted trees and shrubs, erected bird boxes and installed benches, an interpretative board and a sculpture.

Baulk Wood, between Henlow and Langford, is a bigger site which includes a small car park, an easy access trail through a small woodland and a large meadow area with some new tree planting. Working with local volunteers and the Ivel Valley Conservation Volunteers, we have planted over 2,000 trees, sown 3 wildflower meadow areas; installed benches and an interpretative board; and erected fences and gates.
