BIFFA Landfill Tax Credit Scheme

What is Biffaward?
Biffaward is the fund name of Biffa Waste Services landfill tax credits. We offer help and advice to parish councils and community groups within Bedfordshire for the Main Grants Scheme. This is for grant applications between £5,000 £45,000 and needs a third party partner to donate around 11% of the project costs.Biffaward's aim is to support projects that show an innovative use of a community amenity to enhance, maintain or introduce real community led social, economic or environmental improvements.
village halls, skateparks, nature reserves, community rooms, museum education rooms, voluntary sector led sporting facilities, internet cafes, green spaces, historic parks provision for children and teenagers, community gardens, civic spaces, cultural facilities, species restoration.
Biffa will not fund:
- Disability Discrimination Act compliance
- Buses
- Running costs
Biffaward can help all kinds of cultural buildings projects, great and small, within ten miles of a Biffa operation - with funding available from £5,000 to £500,000. Recent examples include:
- £48,724 towards the restoration of Manchester's historic Victoria Baths, much loved by its local community.
- £51,020 to create an education suite at the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Buckinghamshire, used by thousands of eager visitors of all ages.
- £51,020 for an education studio/workshop at Bexhill on Sea's newly refurbished, Grade I listed, De La Warr Pavilion - a centre for contemporary arts and entertainment.
